Dr. Ivo Robotnik- positively seething with anger- stomped across the polished marble floor of his lab, pacing back and forth, consumed by fury. "You RRRROTTEN REJECTS![/b]" the rotund rapscallion shouted, "You let that rancid little rodent ruin my rancorous ruse! What do you two dunderheaded DOLTS have to say for yourselves?!" He glared at his robots, pointing at them, his outstretched index finger mere centimeters away from their eyes as he continued growling in his fit of rage.

@scratch@ There was a muted metallic rattling as Scratch vainly attempted to save face in front of his master. He wasn't shivering. His teeth were not chattering. That giant sausage finger nearly being rammed up his nosehole wasn't fazing him in the slightest. He definitely wasn't begging to sweat. He wasn't trying to swallow around any lump in his throat, either. His eyes were crossed trying to look down Robotnik's finger, though. "It's all Grounder's fault, your vileness! HE's the one who let it slip! Punish him!" he screeched, voice cracking.

@grounder@
Why did Scratch's accusations never fail to surprise the shorter badnik? Every time they failed, it seemed like he wasted no time on blaming Grounder in an attempt to lessen the punishment on himself. And every time it happened, Grounder was still caught shocked. Perhaps it was that little ray of hope he kept that one day, his older brother (well he WAS his older brother, technically) would stand up for him that continued the neverending loop...
All of that said, he still wasn't about to shoulder all of the blame for their last mess-up!
"Me?! It was YOUR fault! How was I supposed to know that technician was really Sonic?" Grounder pointed up at Scratch with one of his drills.

"SILENCE, you know-nothing nitwits!" Robotnik screamed, throwing up his hands, before sighing deeply- His mood deflating from fury to self-pity as his voice took on a melancholy tone, "That horrid little hedgehog always dashes my hopes and dreams of conquering Mobius... And the planet's simpleton citizens just love him for it..." A sordid sourness returned to his voice, as his anger rose again, "When they should clearly be loving ME[/b] instead! I'M Mobius's most malevolent mastermind, while all that egotistical erinaceid ever does is wag his finger and and exposit over how supposedly coool he is. Why, I-" He stopped suddenly, his face contorting into that familiarly twisted grin that he always got whenever he had an idea. "That's IT!" he shouted, still inches away from his robots.

@grounder@
Grounder lept back...as best as one without legs could leap.
"W-what's it, your conniving-ness?" The bot asked, slowly beginning to cower. Why did he get the feeling he would regret asking that...?

@scratch@ Scratch would have jumped back as well, if he hadn't been blown nearly horizontal by the sheer force of the outburst aimed straight at his face.
"Yes, yes! D-do tell!" This was good, very good. If Robotnik was distracted enough by his new idea--and judging by that look on his face, it seemed like it--their punishments might just be dropped entirely. Scratch crossed his fingers behind his back and hoped for the best.
