Orbot didn't respond. Instead, he hummed "innocently" as he picked up all the papers and headed out the room the way they had come in. He had some things he needed to prepare. As for what laid beyond the door itself... It was absolutely pitch black inside. Neither Dizzy nor Cotton would be able to see more than a foot or so ahead. It looked like someone would have to be brave enough to take that first step inside...

Dizzy squinted into the darkness beyond the door. No, she couldn't see anything. She sighed softly, and looked to Cotton. "Well... nothing ventured, et cetera, et cetera." She smiled and then took a few hesitant steps forward.

It was so dark inside. Maybe it was somehow night time and all of the kittens were sleeping? Eggman was a genius, it wouldn't be too hard to simulate nighttime inside of a separate room. At least, that's what the panda figured; she didn't know much of anything about things like that. The small mouse woman in front of her edged forward into the room and Cotton followed right behind, more curious than cautious. Hopefully she wouldn't step on any kittens...

Well, they wouldn't step on any kittens. In fact, they wouldn't be stepping on much of anything: A few steps in, and the floor simply ended, leading into a large pit. Of course, since it was pitch black in there, neither girl would notice it until they had already walked over the edge...

Suddenly, without any warning, Dizzy felt herself dropping. She landed suddenly and hard on her backside, and let out a groan. "What the heck was that?" She let out a little squeak of frustration.

One second, there was a mouse in front of her, cautiously stepping forward. The next, the air in front of her was mysteriously empty. And the woman's voice was somehow lower than it was before. "W-what the heck was what? Are you okay? Where did you g-AHHHHH!" Without thinking, Cotton took a step forward to try and find out what had happened to the other woman and ended up stepping right over the edge, landing on her back, halfway on Dizzy and halfway on the hard floor. "Owwwowowowow..." She winced.

Dizzy frustratedly shoved Cotton away, getting up with a flinch and a muttered swear. "What the heck kind of test is this?" She wished her e-book had some sort of flashlight on it now. She held her hands out in front of her, groping in the dark.

Cotton flopped as she was pushed off of the smaller woman, landing on her face with a tiny "oof". Gathering her bearings, she turned over...and saw complete and utter darkness. In fact, she wasn't too sure she'd actually turned over. She very well could have been thinking about turning over so much, she thought she'd turned over. Just to make sure, she flailed an arm wildly in front of her face. Yep, turned. The fall hadn't been that far, but she wasn't entirely compelled to just stand up and start wandering around in the dark. So, she continued to lie on the floor, listening to the mouse stumble around and mutter in irritation. "Well, it's dark. Maybe he's trying to see how we work in darkness? You know, like how we adapt to it~"

Diz paused, looking at Cotton- or rather, in Cotton's direction since she couldn't quite see Cotton- with eyebrows lifted. The airhead had made a good point. "That's true. This is a test, after all." She smiled a bit, then patted her pockets, also searching her purse. After some digging, she pulled out a small electronic device, and turned it on. A small glow of light came from it, along with a popular video game logo. "Now let's see where we are." She started to shine the small light around the area.
