Name:
Abraham Tower
Nicknames:
His friends call him Abe.
Species:
Human
Gender:
Male
Age:
65
Alignment:
Lawful Good
Height:
6'1"
Residence:
Near Gun Command HQ, rarely leaves the base anyway.
World of Origin:
Gaia
Occupation:
GUN Commander
Personality:
Stoic and to the point, Abraham Tower is the exact epitome of leadership and dedication. He rose the ranks of GUN from a young age in order to change it from the inside. After witnessing the traumatic death of Maria Robotnik, one of his only friends on ARK, he resolved to change GUN for the better. Not much can be said about the man-- he takes his coffee black, he still goes to the gym, he's had the same barber for 35 years. He's been the mentor to several proteges, including but not limited to Madonna. He's a man with a good head on his shoulders who takes his bumpy past in stride, and acts as a completely incorruptible military leader. The textbook definition of who you want in charge of the military that saves the planet.
He once had it out for Shadow during an alien invasion, but has since welcomed him into GUN's operational forces and given him access to GUN's resources, though with restrictions based on past mistrust. He trusts him as one of the Earth's most competent defenders, and though he relates to him on a small level, he keeps some modicum of distance. Shadow was built to be the ultimate lifeform, and Abraham built himself up and worked his way through the ranks to become Commander. He will never understand what it's like to be a weapon of destruction, but Abraham sure as hell knows what it's like to be aiming that weapon. Even then, he doesn't completely control Shadow as he is on a for-hire basis, so he understands his orders must either align with Shadow's goals or be given to other soldiers.
His pride and joys in his life are his children and grandchildren, the former already entering the military business. He also takes pride in the fact that GUN is relatively pure, in the sense that politicians don't buy their way in-- he's quick to snuff out nepotism as he didn't get where he is that way. He worries about GUN's future once he retires or dies, whichever comes first, and trusts the younger generation to uphold his values and influence.
Strengths:
Besides being a highly competent soldier, he's also tough as nails for a non-Indole human and has survived his fair share of un-survivable cataclysms. He has trained his entire life to handle pressure with grace and doesn't let things rush to his head. He's also good at assessing people who are good for the job, such as Rouge's talent for treasure hunting and Shadow's general demeanor and OP-ness, and gaining them on his side. In a world where Chaos Emeralds are a thing and mobians are known as world-savers, someone has to engage on the frontlines while heroes save the day. He's a very good tactician and places full trust in those he works with.
He's also capable with firearms and mechs, as he was able to operate a sidearm by himself during the course of Shadow the Hedgehog and even piloted the Diablon mech himself.
Weaknesses:
At this point in time, his body is starting to fail him, which isn't the best. He's got a stiff back and everyone at the compound knows he has bad allergies from August to winter. He can no longer fight as well as he wanted to, leaving it to his subordinates. He doesn't like relying on wildcard characters such as Sonic to save the day every time even though that's his thing. He can come off as a bit negative and too strict.
Emerald Abilities:
None.
History:
Abraham Tower was relocated with his parents to ARK when he was a young boy, eventually befriending Maria Robotnik. He was one of the few who bore witness to Shadow the Hedgehog's creation, which naturally horrified him at the time. When ARK was raided by GUN, he watched as Maria died and eventually vowed to gain revenge on the world that would do this to her-- but he took it in a much different direction than Shadow. Focusing on his studies and strengthening his mind and body, he quickly rose up to be the Commander of GUN's forces. He then turned it into an ideal for him-- a military force free of the corruption that plagued it.
He works with humans and mobians alike to ensure a better future for tomorrow. Though he worries constantly about Eggman and how the good doctor will likely outlive him, he's putting his faith and trust in the people he works with for a better tomorrow, to preserve GUN as it is for the future.
Likes:
Winter, Coffee, his wife, kids, grandkids, a constant workload, peacetime.
Dislikes:
Eggman, corruption, (most) politicians, sweet desserts, nepotism.
